Who Are You Planning Solar For?

Customer Journeys Designed Around Your Purpose

Solar is not one-size-fits-all. We organize engineering and financial recommendations around where and how you consume electricity.

For Your Home

Understand your rooftop solar requirement, net-metering eligibility with local DISCOM, and battery backup configurations before committing capital.

  • Sized to your monthly electricity bill
  • RCC terrace, tin-shed, or tile-roof mounting
  • Guidance on applicable central/state schemes
Highest OPEX ROI

For Your Business

Hedge escalating commercial power tariffs for manufacturing factories, commercial offices, warehouses, and cold storages with CAPEX/OPEX models.

  • Daytime load matching & peak demand reduction
  • Accelerated depreciation (AD) financial benefits
  • Non-penetrative PEB metal roof clamp systems

For Agriculture

Reliable daytime water pumping for farms, open wells, and deep borewells independent of erratic rural power line availability.

  • 3 HP, 5 HP, 7.5 HP & 10 HP solar pumps
  • Surface & submersible motor compatibility
  • Rugged MPPT VFD controller with dry-run protection
Instant Preliminary Sizing

Direct grid-tied solar is the most cost-effective solution for properties with a stable utility supply and net-metering.

This is a preliminary sizing estimate, not a final engineering proposal. Final sizing, generation yield, and commercial ROI depend on a formal site survey, sanctioned load, shadow analysis, roof structure, and local utility DISCOM approvals.

The iSolar Process

A Solar Installation Is a System, Not a Collection of Parts

The performance of your solar plant depends on how the project is engineered, installed, and connected to the utility. Here is how we execute from start to finish.

01

Requirement

Share past 12-month electricity bills, sanctioned load, and objective.

02

Site Assessment

Shadow analysis, roof structural integrity, and electrical panel inspection.

03

Engineering

Detailed single line diagram (SLD), string mapping, and equipment selection.

04

Installation

Galvanized structure mounting, DC cabling, earthing pits, and surge protection.

05

Approvals

MSEDCL net-metering synchronization, CEIG inspection, and bi-directional meter.

06

Commissioning

Plant handover, cloud IoT monitoring setup, and documentation kit.

Technology Architecture

Understand the Technology Without the Jargon

You do not need to be a solar engineer to choose the right system. Here is when each configuration makes sense.

On-Grid Solar Systems

Works directly in sync with the electricity grid. Exports surplus day units through net metering.

When it makes sense:
Properties with reliable grid availability looking purely to minimize monthly power bills at highest ROI.
When it does not:
Areas with frequent power outages where daytime backup is mandatory (anti-islanding turns it off during blackouts).
Solar + Storage

Hybrid Solar Systems

Combines solar generation with lithium/tubular battery banks and utility grid connection.

When it makes sense:
Where continuous uninterrupted power for refrigeration, computers, or medical devices is essential.
When it does not:
If power cuts are negligible, as battery banks increase capital expenditure and maintenance overhead.

Off-Grid Solar Systems

Fully standalone system operating with zero dependence on the electricity distribution company.

When it makes sense:
Remote farmhouses, eco-resorts, and forest posts where drawing grid lines is cost-prohibitive.
When it does not:
Urban and suburban areas where the grid is accessible and net metering can absorb excess generation.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to help you evaluate rooftop and commercial solar investments honestly.

How much solar capacity does my home or business need?

It depends primarily on your average monthly unit consumption (kWh), sanctioned load, and shadow-free roof area. A general rule of thumb for Maharashtra is that 1 kW of solar generates ~120–130 units per month and requires 80–100 sq. ft. of unshaded space.

What is the practical difference between On-Grid and Hybrid solar?

An on-grid system synchronizes with the utility grid and feeds surplus power back via net metering. It shuts down during power cuts for worker safety. A hybrid system includes a battery storage bank that keeps critical circuits powered during grid outages.

Does every roof support solar installation?

Most RCC flat terraces, industrial metal PEB sheds, and tiled roofs can support solar. However, structural load-bearing capacity, wind exposure, and localized shading from trees or parapets must be inspected before finalizing the structural design.

Are government subsidies available for residential solar?

Yes, residential consumers can apply for central financial assistance under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana on designated portal quotas. Subsidy amounts depend on official scheme rules and utility meter approval. iSolar guides you through the documentation process.

How long does a complete solar installation take?

Residential systems (3–10 kW) are typically installed in 2 to 4 working days after material delivery. DISCOM net-metering inspection and bidirectional meter synchronization usually take an additional 2 to 4 weeks depending on utility turnaround.
